Education and Professional Experience
Studied at the Vocational Art School in 1989, where he graduated in Engraving, Photography and Artistic Forge. He also studied at the Academy of Professional Middle Level in Camagüey, Cuba, in 1993; at the National School of Art (ENA) in 1994 and at the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) in 2003. That same year he took a course on visual arts at the Higher National School of Fine Arts in Paris, France.
He has participated in over 40 group exhibitions and has made 4 solo shows, among them: Private Zones, Common Places, Development Center for the Visual Arts, Havana, Cuba, 2002, and Works by Pavel Acosta, The Print Studio, Hamilton, Canada, 2009.
Awards and Residencies
He has obtained several prizes and residences, among them the Bathyscaph Residence, Gasworks, London, UK/Havana, Cuba, 2006; the Three Islands Workshop residence, Triangle Arts Trust/Gasworks. Orkney Islands, Scotland, UK; residence at the International School of Jainist Studies, New Delhi, India, 2008; residence at the National Higher School of Fine Arts, Paris, France, 2003. He obtained the CAFKA 04 Peace of Mind prize, Contemporary Art Forum Kitchener and Area, Kitchener, Canada.
