Education and Professional Experience
1972 He graduated from the specialty of Sculpture, Ceramics and Drawing at the José Joaquín Tejada Academy of Plastic Arts, Santiago de Cuba.
1989 Bachelor in Art History, University of Oriente, Santiago de Cuba.
1975 Assumes engraving as art genre.
Personal Exhibitions
Lobaina has presented 16 solo shows in Cuba and abroad; one of the most important was Retorno al Paraíso (Return to Paradise) at the Prat Puig Cultural Center of the City Conserver’s Office, Santiago de Cuba

He has participated in 158 group exhibitions in Cuba and abroad.
Awards and Residencies
He has received 50 prizes and mentions in competitive provincial and national salons; outstanding among them is the Prize of the National Salon of Engraving 1997 Ciudad de La Habana, and the most recent one, obtained at the UNEAC Territorial Salon of Plastic Arts, 2004.
Collections
Some of his works are in the collection of the museum Emilio Bacardí in Santiago de Cuba and in the Museum of the University of Benton, U.S.A.
