Villa Manuela in Lima Photo
From August 8th to 12th will take place in Lima, Peru, the third edition of the Fair of Photography LimaPhoto. Villa Manuela Gallery will participate in the Stand 24 with a proposal of ten artists, they are:Ernesto Fernández, Ernesto Javier Fernández, Roberto Diago, Mabel Poblet, Reynier Leyva Novo, Adonis Flores, Marianela Orozco, René Peña, Aimée García y Adrián Fernández.
Northamerican artist paints a mural in Havana
An urban mural painting by U.S. artist Miles Mac Gregor (EL MAC), in cooperation with Gabriel Lara and Marcos López, two young Cuban designers, was inaugurated in G Street between 13th and 15th streets in a collaboration with the CIFO Foundation, with the purpose of promoting, planning and executing cultural projects that contribute to the knowledge and dissemination of contemporary art and artists and as part of the 11th Havana Biennial.
A relevant number of Cuban artists participated in the 22nd edition of the Miami Fair. Two of them whose works were exhibited in our gallery obtained excellent sales results. Three drawings by Abel Barroso were sold for $18,000 each, and Alexandre Arrechea’s sculpture of the Empire State Building was sold for $95,000.
On December 8th, at a press conference, were announced the schedule of exhibitions for 2012 of Villa Manuela Art Gallery. There will be a total of nine. The first one will take place on March 2 and will show the recent works of the young artist Mabel Poblet. Esterio Segura’s project Submarinos hecho en casa (Home-made Submarines) will also be carried out, as part of the 11th Havana Biennial.
Watch Out for Art - The Other Sculpture
The third edition of Watch Out for Art—a space of reflection and critique on different groups of problems of the Cuban visual arts, conducted by critic and curator Nelson Herrera Ysla—was held at 5 p.m. last November 22 at UNEAC’s Villa Manuela Art Gallery.

The second edition of the space Watch out for Art was celebrated on Tuesday, October 25. The continuity and rupture of the country’s youngest graphic art with regard to the production preceding it was the topic broached.
Watch Out for Art - Contemporary sculpture
Watch Out for Art, a space for critique and reflection on diverse themes of contemporary Cuban art, was held on Wednesday, September 28 at 5:00 p.m. It was conducted by critic and curator Nelson Herrera Ysla. The gathering was dedicated to contemporary sculpture, with specialists on the subject María de los Ángeles Pereira and Hilda María Rodríguez, both professors in the career of Art History at the University of Havana, as guest participants.
